Life is worth the Embellishments

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a LOT of really big moments in my life pass by with very little fanfare.

In fact, if I scan the imaginary book of my life, the print is not even bolded around meaningful things like getting my period, graduating from high school, and the death of my grandparents.

Ceremonies are the embellishments, the fancy script, the ALL CAPS in our mental memoire. They serve as speed bumps, shouting for you to slow down, pay attention, because this right here...

🌟
IS REALLY IMPORTANT! 🌟

Grab your journal and let's get to it!

Make a list of your major life moments. Significant points in time or events that changed the course of your life. Things like deaths, births, moves, marriages, big achievements, or devastating failures. Put a checkmark next to the ones for which you had a ceremony to highlight its significance.

Next, put a heart next to the ones you wish someone had held a ceremony for. Then, circle the most life changing event. Take a moment to write down the change you underwent at that time. Describe who you were before, and after that moment. What wisdom did you gain and you still carry with you today? Who are you grateful for from that time and why?

For added bonus sparkle points, if that person is still alive, reach out to them and share this gratitude with them.

Please remember, wonderful human, that it's never too late to have a ceremony for an important life moment- even if it was in the distant past.

You can also start to look ahead at what will be happening in the near future, and begin thinking about what type of ceremony you'd like to hold for yourself.
