A half-day forest adventure to unplug from overwhelm,
connect with the Earth, and soothe the soul.

before we tell you about this brand new retreat,
let's make sure you're in the right place...

Picture
You're an empathic, sensitive soul, working hard to keep your family happy and healthy, trying to live a life of purpose, while not letting the pile of laundry get to the size of Kilimanjaro.

You've noticed that a thin silver lining of the pandemic is that you've seen just how unsustainable the pace of life was 'before.' In the slow down, you've gotten outside more and remembered how nourishing it is. Now you're looking for MORE... practices to harness the nourishing power of nature to get you out of stress and anxiety and into grounded peace.

Whether you're...

✓ A seasoned outdoorsy person looking for creative and meaningful ways to connect with nature and want accountability to prevent a back slide into the pre-pandemic chaos of "don't stop til you drop," because you know that the most unselfish thing you can do for your family, is to  maintain your own balance.

✓ A former indoorsy person looking to dive deep into soulful nature experiences with like hearted individuals, in the process setting yourself up for a lifetime of magic and wonder, all wrapped in a convenient half-day experience, that will fast track your learning and save you time.

Still here? Then Welcome!

Lynn & Gwen are overjoyed  to guide you in Retreat to Sacred Nature. You'll learn how to engage with the natural world to instantly reduce stress and anxiety,
leaving you feeling whole and ready to take on the world... again.

in this mini-retreat

you will awaken a:
✓ Quiet mind. Constant anxiety and fear causes our stress hormones to run wild and kick us into adrenal fatigue... leaving us exhausted, sick, and cranky. In our time together, you'll learn techniques to quiet run away thoughts, calming the nervous system and keep present.

✓ Childlike sense of wonder. Do you remember when life was in Technicolor? Every moment contained a lifetime of awe and we didn't second guess our intuition. When we return to this place, dopamine flows freely, play is effortless, and joy is abundant.

✓ Remembrance of who YOU are. It's SO easy to lock away our dreams, desires, and sense of self when there are countless daily fires to put out. Pausing to sit in stillness, breathe, and open the line of communication with the Self is vital to our sense of well being.

✓ Oneness. I believe the most radical thing we can do in this life is remember that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Remembering this allows us to look past the illusion of separateness and experience a sense of connection with all things. This oneness is a balm for the soul.

"Everything in Gwen's presence grows...

That includes, people, plants, children, insights, spontaneity, and connection. When I’m in the woods with Gwen, I feel so completely excited to express my inner child, connect to my true essence, and expand my knowledge of the natural world.

* Unplug: Sometimes the most important part of the journey is giving yourself permission to stop— put down the list and the idea that you  need to 'have it all together'. Reinvesting in your physical and mental health creates better relationships & calmer parenting.

* Remember Peace: You'll learn ancient mindfulness & meditation techniques to enliven the senses, commune with nature, and listen to your truth. The practices are simple enough for you bring back to your daily life for continued self care.

* Connect: This year has been isolating for many who've had little authentic and genuine interactions with other adults. In saying "yes" to this adventure, you begin building community connections.

* Play & Explore: Can you use some levity after the doom and gloom of 2020? We'll engage with our childlike sense of curiosity to see nature in new ways.

Frequently Asked questions

Got a question that's not listed? Email and we'll be happy to help -> Email now
I'm not a hiker, is this appropriate for me?
Yes my darling. We will be moving at a gentle and mindful pace through the forest and spending time at rest. As long as you can walk unencumbered, you will be just fine.

What do I need to bring?
Bring what you might bring to a yoga or meditation class. Water, mask, and a blanket / towel to sit on. If you have trouble sitting on the ground, feel free to bring a folding / beach chair.

How large will the group be?
We will keep our number to 20 or less for this retreat.

What if there is inclement weather?
We will meet in light rain or shine. If there is a downpour, high winds, or lightning, we will postpone for safety and meet the following Sunday September 25, 22.

If I feel sick and need to stay home, will I get a full refund?
Absolutely. We want you to take care of yourself and our community. If you feel ill, showing any Covid symptoms, are waiting for a test result, or have recently been exposed, please notify us as soon as possible and we'll roll your tuition over to the next program..

Meet your guides

When I Reconnected with nature I fell in love with life again...

As a child, I sought sanctuary from a chaotic home in the backyard. In that safety, out there, I was in awe, fully alive, and in tune with my unique rhythms.

As I grew, it was implied that I needed to focus on 'important' things and the separation from nature (and my true self)  began.

Without the grounding of nature, I lost a friend, therapist, and church, which allowed anxiety and overwhelm to set in. Until, thankfully, in my late 20's I learned practices to reconnect with the land in a spiritually meaningful way.

If you say 'yes' to this journey, I personally guarantee the pathways I used to return to my peace, wholeness, and purpose will be invaluable for you too.

All my love,

Getting back to nature brought me back to life...

In my twenties I spent tons of time in nature: hiking, backpacking, and fighting for environmental justice. My mission was so clear.

When I started a family, my responsibilities grew as I moved up the ladder. While this enabled me to fight for the Earth, it pulled me away from the woods and glued me to a desk... eventually, I burned out.

In 2019, I stepped away from my suburban working mom routines and walked into the woods as part of an apprenticeship, spending days and nights in the forest.

I found a deep stillness that made it so clear that being in nature with community is medicine.

I look forward to slowing down in the woods with you, knowing this time will heal ourselves and the Earth.

Terms, Conditions, & other crap no one reads

I acknowledge that I'm living and working on stolen land. The original peoples of what's now called New York, as well as the rest of this continent, were wrongfully & forcibly removed from their lands, suffered death, physical, and emotional trauma, and their culture intentionally fractured. I understand that Native Americans are still here; strong and thriving. I offer my condolences those the past, present, and future indigenous peoples who experienced harm, at the hands of colonizers, the colonial system, and systemic racism. I promise to do my best to be an ally, abolitionist, and accomplice. To support reparations and healing, in not just words, but in action. I understand that this statement is imperfect and only the first step.
